Microsoft publicized the
next model of its Windows operating system, known as Windows 10 while
availability is still about a year, but the "Technical Overview" i.e.
Beta version of the OS is launched to try the exciting new features.
Since Windows 8, despite
its capabilities have failed to attract consumers, the fate of Windows 10
should be a deciding factor in the post-PC era.
If you look through the
time series of Windows, the last decade has shown a surprising response. Early model was
extremely popular XP, Vista disappointed, 7 was a blockbuster, while Windows 8
received mixed reviews and lukewarm reaction. Then there was an advanced
version of Windows 8 called Windows 8.1 that tried to solve all the problems
users have had with Win8.
Windows 10 can? Let's dive
in and find out!
1.Revamped Start Menu
One of the biggest
complaints users had with Windows 8, was the loss of the traditional Start
Menu. The Metro UI Live Tiles & replaced the old menu.
But now! The Start menu
Windows 10 is more like a fusion between Windows 7 and 8 there is a list view
(like 7) with live tiles, web search, search application, etc. (Windows 8) -
you giving the best of both worlds!
2.Multitasking
The function of SNAP window
in this version, it’s quite easy to run many applications on the same screen
without overlying windows. Though, the number of windows you may have been
limited by the resolution of your LCD. With this version, you can have multiple
windows i.e. 4 on each corner so they occupy equal space. It is not clear
whether this will also depend on the resolution of your office right now; the
function will be to improve the way you multitasking.
3.Visual Changes
Windows 10 also provides several
workstations, a feature previously found only in Unix Linux &. If you're
not aware with Linux, imagine Android home screen. Now you can have the home
screen on your computer that has various shortcuts, so no more a mess!
There is an improvement of
view of available tasks. For those who do not know what it is, it's how you
switch between requests, normally by pressing Alt + Tab or Windows + Tab. The
new view of the task was a very pleasant call, where all you open the windows,
applications and desktops appear in structures stacked horizontally blocks,
making it easy to jump through.
And one of the most
important changes, apps now open in resizable windows, unlike full screen
orientation in Windows 8, you can now easily close, minimize or maximize
application store.
4.Compatibility
Windows 10 would not just
be limited to the computer, the same operating system will run on tablets (the
interface is different), telephones and computers. There will be a store for
all devices and developers can create cross-platform applications. This also
brings mobile applications on the desktop!
In addition, Microsoft has
invited everyone to be part of the construction of this new operating system.
Users can download beta types, send crashing reports, propose recommendations and
give feedback to make the best OS before its final release.
5.Touch Screen Optimization
WINDOWS 10 will be
optimized for touch screens over Windows 8 Start screen always displays a task-bar and the folder list on the left, a new button task view displays all
your applications running as thumbnails and you can switch to any application
with just one tap. For devices 2-in-1, when the keyboard is detached, the OS detects
on its own and switch modes to display virtual buttons for navigation and
control.
6.Smarter Search
The start menu has a
redesigned search bar at the bottom - similar to Windows 7 in which you can find
your PC files and applications using the search bar. Though, with Windows 10,
the search takes files on the PC, the application on the Windows store, and if
there are no matches for your computer, a link to open a browser window with
the results of your request on Bing.
7.Home View
In the sidebar of the
browser window, a new icon called "Home" is present above the Favorites
section. It's really the go-to place to display your favourite and recent
files. This could save time for users to move between folders and open
applications / files by accessing them here instead of searching for them via
the Start menu.
