Social Media Marketing shows a continue growth when it comes to
marketing, but many do not understand that the era of social media began well
before the launch of Facebook in 2004.
Social media can be traced back to the 1990s, but it was
just in a other form. Consider it, as it’s all about building relationships and
sharing. In the 1990s, it took the form of discussion forums, chat of old known
as "Internet Relay Chat" school.
Now, understand that these tools do not carry the popularity
and ease of use that you will find in today's social media networks such as Facebook,
Twitter and LinkedIn that are still ways for consumers to share information and
build relationships.
So quickly moving forward to the launch of different social
media platforms from 2003 to so on, when these new social networks were
introduced the first perception is that they would be owned by students, either
high school or students, many do not see the value of marketing, or the impact
they have today. Just look at the overall growth *
- Facebook has over 1 billion active users worldwide.
- Twitter has over 200 million monthly active users.
- LinkedIn has over 200 million monthly active users.
- YouTube has over 800 million monthly active users.
- Google + has more than 135 million monthly active users.
Do you still think social media is just a fad?
Many people thought that when the internet first started,
that one day it would just go away, but it continues to be the only service
most households cannot live without at a time when they cancel their cable TV,
magazines and newspapers.
Bloomberg estimates that we have not seen the peak of growth
and project reports revenues of social media will increase by to $ 9.8 billion
in 2016.
Reading these statistics, you can be faced with a
"ah-ha" moment regarding social media and I was wondering if there
are ways you can get involved to help in the development of your marketing
efforts or maybe you've been involved in social media, but just are not seeing
the results you thought you would.
You're slow to start or you do not see the results you had
hoped, you're not alone. I put up 7 to do and not to do when it comes to social
media marketing that I think will help you in both cases, consider it a primary
social media market base.
1.Do - Building relationships.
Use social media networks to build
relationships not only to show. You will see several results from relations. If
you just there to show your presence to them, your patrons will stop following
you because they do not feel that you are adding value to their experience. Not
knowing how to begin to build relationships? Start with education,
entertainment and information. If it does not fit into one of these three
categories might be better to keep it to yourself.
2.Do not - Do not put your social media networks on autopilot
Engage, get involved, be active. Create a social media strategy of marketing
that allows you to stay involved on a consistent basis.
3.Do - Select the networks that work for you.
You do not have to
participate in all social media networks, it is difficult and often means that
you do not do any of them well. Do choose a social media network that serves
your target market and give the network of your all. It is better to be in one
social media network and do well rather than on all of them and do a poor job.
4.Do not - Do not mix personal and business.
Because in social
media there is always a fine line between personal and professional. Keep
business and personal separate. Do not mix them. Personal messages are most
likely different from your business persona, to act accordingly by creating
profiles that represent your business.
5.Do - Keep your ears tuned on.
Although you cannot be on all
social media networks at least monitor social media mentions, so if someone is
talking about your product and / or service, you can answer. You do not have to
be active on all networks, but you should at least be monitoring and
responding. Many people will use social networks to access customer service.
6.Do not - Do not ignore complaints.
This is probably why biggest
company does not want to be on social media. "What if somebody says somewhat
negative about my business?" My reaction, handle it! Use a subtle way to answer
the question so that others see that you are present and ready to help if it
gets out of hand call for an outside line to get a resolution.
7.Do - Have a strategy.
Identify what are your goals when it
comes to social media marketing and identify your goals so that you know if
your efforts are paying off. Many businesses launch on social media networks,
because it is the "in" but did not identify how they will use it, who
will manage and handle and what will determine whether or not the goals are achieved.
Spend some time on creating a social media strategy of marketing that is clear
for everyone so you're all moving toward the same goal, Compliance voice to
achieve excellent results.
